Palesa Pitso

Palesa is a dedicated legal academic with a robust background in law and criminal justice. She holds an LLB from Nelson Mandela University (NMU) and is currently pursuing an LLM in Criminal Justice at the University of the Western Cape (UWC). Palesa has a deep passion for exploring the intricacies of the legal system.

Her research focuses on recidivism in South Africa, specifically examining whether the South African Correctional Service effectively fulfills its corrective role. This work aims to evaluate the effectiveness of correctional programs and propose recommendations for their improvement.

In addition to her research, Palesa enjoys engaging with students, sharing knowledge, and fostering a deeper understanding of criminal law. Passionate about criminal justice reform and legal education, she is committed to making a meaningful impact in the legal field.
