NKOKHELI LINDAZWE
Nkokheli Lindazwe a formidable storyteller, broadcaster and creative visionary whose career spans more than a decade of shaping South Africa’s media and creative industries with intention, innovation and an unmistakable Free State flair. His journey reflects a distinguished culmination of creative instinct, leadership maturity and a deep commitment to cultivating spaces where young people can imagine, create and lead with confidence.
He began his career behind the microphone, hosting the breakfast show on both Kovsie FM and CUT FM making him the only broadcaster to headline the Morning Drive on both of Bloemfontein’s campus radio stations. His talent, discipline and natural leadership quickly distinguished him. By the age of 21, he became the youngest‑ever Station Manager at Kovsie FM, where he led the station into a new era of growth and creative excellence. Under his leadership, the station became a launchpad for emerging talent, including now‑renowned broadcasters such as SuperSport’s Sam Ludidi and SABC News’ Mawande Mateza. This early chapter of his career reflects his ability not only to excel personally, but to create opportunities for others a thread that continues throughout his professional journey.
In 2014, driven by a desire to tell authentic, local stories, Nkokheli co‑founded Central Vibe, the first pop‑culture and lifestyle online publication of its kind in Central South Africa long before digital content became mainstream. His commitment to elevating homegrown narratives later led him to produce the Free State short film Molamu: The Fighting Stick, which aired on Mzansi Magic and celebrated the richness of local culture and talent. These creative ventures reveal his instinct for innovation and his ability to anticipate shifts in media long before they become mainstream.
Recognised for his leadership potential, Nkokheli was identified by the Free State Provincial Government as a future leader, representing both the province and South Africa at the Youth Connekt Summit in Rwanda an international platform championing youth innovation and continental collaboration. This experience further broadened his vision of what young African creatives are able achieve when given the tools, platforms and support to thrive.
He later played a pivotal role in conceptualising and leading Careers Magazine, a career‑guidance publication distributed to over 4,000 stores across the SADC region. In which he served as General Manager, steering its strategic growth and commercial direction, ensuring that young people across Southern Africa had access to meaningful, practical and aspirational career resources. His work in this space reflects his enduring commitment to youth empowerment and his belief in the transformative power of information, mentorship and opportunity.
Today, Nkokheli is the founder and Managing Director of Nkokheli Creatives, one of South Africa’s most dynamic creative agencies. The agency is driven by a deep commitment to cultivating youth talent within the creative sector, empowering the next generation of storytellers, innovators, and changemakers. Through this work, he continues to build platforms that nurture creativity, expand opportunity and amplify the voices of young people across the country.
What distinguishes Nkokheli is not only his creative brilliance, but the clarity of purpose that guides his work. He is motivated by a belief in the power of storytelling to shift narratives, build identity and inspire collective imagination. His ambition is rooted in service to uplift, to create, and to open doors for others and a bold belief in the power of young people.
