Role Summary:

This is a unique opportunity for a Candidate Attorney to immerse themselves in a wide array of legal dealings. Under the mentorship of seasoned attorneys, you will develop an in-depth understanding of South African legal practices and refine your skills in legal research, document preparation, and client representation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in representing clients in courts and tribunals, engaging in litigation
  • Dealing with matters over a wide range of legal matters ranging from corporate law to debt collection processes, conveyancing, criminal law, civil law and family law
  • Support in drafting and preparing legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, motions, and agreements
  • Contribute to providing sound legal advice and guidance to clients on various legal issues
  • Participate in legal research and analysis, interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations
  • Support senior attorneys and growing in your professional development within the firm

Requirements

About You:

  • A recent graduate with a completed and obtained LLB degree, ideally seeking admission as an Attorney in South Africa or currently undergoing the process
  • A foundational understanding of civil and criminal law, procedures, and court processes. Exposure to other areas of law would be advantageous
  • Excellent analytical, research, and negotiation skills, with attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster trust and collaboration
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to professional ethics, integrity, and continuous learning
  • Proficiency in English and Afrikaans is highly desirable
